CREDITS

Recognizing that personal situations can change, you may request to be placed in a different group or request to defer your participation until the following year, if you do so within 7 days after being notified of acceptance into a group.  Group change is subject to available space and approval by the leader of the requested group, and is not guaranteedCredit towards next year’s training will be given if an acceptable change cannot be made.   Request to change or defer by sending an email to snowcamping@gmail.com with the subject: Request to Change Group OR Request to Defer.  Please state what your request is and your reason for it.  If given, credit is good for one year only. To make use of this credit, you must submit a new application the following year during the application period, noting the date you paid previously. If credit is not used by the next year the full fee is required to sign up for the training in the future.  Credit is not transferable to another person.

Beyond the 7 days window, NO credit is given if you voluntarily miss Orientation Day or an outing that goes out on a published date.  Students are expected to attend Orientation Day and plan to go out on any of the three published dates.  In cases of an emergency you must contact your group leader and snowcamping@gmail.com right away to see what can be done; credit towards next year’s training may be given.

A leader’s highest priority is the safety of the student and group.  Every attempt will be made to complete the two training outings on two of the three published dates. However, a trip may be cancelled and rescheduled if weather and road conditions are deemed unsafe.  Credit to complete the course the next year will be given if a student cannot make an outing date rescheduled by a leader that is not one of the original three published dates.
